Workout of the week * 2

Monday will be the day that I post my favorite workout from the previous week along with an explanation as to why it was my favorite workout. After all there are many different reasons to be proud of a workout, everything from a new PR (personal record) weight-wise to a particularly difficult move or even just a cool looking video. I think it’s important for people to see what the various workout videos I post to Instagram mean to me.

Week of February 28- March 5

This is my current PR for Super Squats 450# (which means there are 5- 45 pound plates on each side of the machine). This was especially meaningful for me, because when I walked up to the machine the guy who had just finished using it offered to help remove some of the plates. I told him that wasn’t necessary and by my last set had added am additional 90#. I must admit that I love when a guy underestimates how much I can lift and then I end up lifting more than they did. Just cause I’m a girl doesn’t mean I can’t be strong Nd powerful. I think that’s an important message to share with others.

Week of March 6-12

This video is from my weekly boxing class. I love boxing because it’s not only a great form of cardio, but also a great way to let out your frustrations. It has become my replacement for rugby without having to worry about getting anymore concussions. This class was unique because I was the only person in class that day. This meant the instructor was able to teach me some more advanced moves that we normally can’t do when the group is larger. This was the first time I stepped into a round house kick. It’s so different when you’ve going into the move with momentum.
