My favorite workout from last week isn’t a new PR or a super complicated exercise. In fact, it’s an exercise that I’ve done probably hundreds of times. The leg press has always been a favorite of mine because my legs are freakishly strong and there is nothing more satisfying than loading the free weight version of this machine up with 45 pound plate. For those who haven’t seen the video on my Instagram, my current PR for leg press is 630 pounds or 14- 45 pound plates. This leg press machine, however, is brand new to my gym. Since the seat moves as you perform the leg press, this machine has the added benefit of a core workout. I definitely felt it in my abs for the next couple of days after my workout. So while 180 is nowhere near a PR for me, I just love how cool this new machine is and am excited to add it into my rotation of machines. It will be interesting to see how much weight I’ll be able to press on this new machine as I get more comfortable with it.
