So May 4th has become known as Star Wars Day- for those of you who aren’t familiar with this geek holiday, it’s due to the fact that May the 4th sounds awfully similar to May the Force. I often have people ask me if it’s the anniversary of the release of the first movie and it’s as simple as rhyming with a Jedi saying. I consider myself to be a pretty well-rounded geek, but Star Wars will always be my primary fandom. In fact, my parents very first date was to see the new Star Wars movie. So I consider Star Wars to play a significant role in my existence. As a result, Star Wars day is a pretty big deal in my house. The kids and I always wear a Star Wars themed outfit. This year was no exception. Ive been saving my floral “May the Force be with you ” shirt for months and paired it with my awesome Darth Vader leggings. Both pieces came from Torrid, which actually offers quite a range of geeky gear for us curvy gals. I definitely own many of these pieces.
For Cinco de Mayo, I also wore a shirt that I’d been saving for the occasion. When I saw t)3 pattern on this Randy tee, it immediately reminded me of pictures I’ve seen of ruins in Mexico. When you take the color scheme into consideration, it just seemed like the perfect choice to wear to my group’s big taco and margarita party. I am half Mexican so I like having the opportunity to embrace my heritage, and eat/drink stuff that reminds me of my family.
