Motivation Monday- work at your own level

Today was my first boxing class after being sick, so I knew I had to try not to push it too hard. It’s very easy for me to get carried away while boxing. I get so caught up in the combination that I’m not always aware of how much I’m putting into it. I am a powerful woman and I really love that boxing gives me a great outlet for my frustration/aggression. This video shows one of the reasons I am so powerful when it comes to boxing. We normally don’t get to do much focus mitt work for straight uppercuts, but our new instructor let us have a it. The main reason I can put so much force into my uppercuts is because I can incorporate power from my legs. While I’ve got amrelatively strong upper body, my lower body is my true source of power. I love that you can really see me channeling the power of my lower body into my punches in this video. By doing that, I am able to pack a major punch without exerting too much energy. I made it through the whole class feeling invigorated but not overtaxed.
