Fitness Friday- single leg KB crossbody deadlifts

Lots of exercises can be modified to isolate one side of your body. This allows you to work on strengthening your non-dominant side (leg, arm, etc). Everyone knows that their dominant hand is due to handwriting, but they may not be aware that they also have a dominant leg. When you do many exercises, it is very easy to favor your dominant side as it is stronger. I’m sharing these two videos to show how obvious it is as to which side is stronger with these crossbody single leg deadlifts. My balance is significantly better on my right leg, which is not surprising considering I am right handed. However, it is important to know that my balance has gotten significantly better on my left leg over time. This is largely due to that fact that I work single legged exercises into my routine. By doing that, I encourage my weak side to work harder than it would if I used both sides together.

Left leg- as this is my weak leg, it took me much longer to complete the same number of reps as I had much more trouble keeping my balance.

Right leg- much better control makes this exercise much easier.
