While my Motivation Monday title was created with this particular video in mind, it’s really my philosophy for all my works out. I always try to push myself as hard as I can to get the most out of my workouts. Getting the most can take many different forms from calorie burns to muscle gain to a particularly good sweat to a moment of zen from my everyday life. I really love starting my week with boxing, because it starts my week off on a strong note. Boxing is so fun and such a great way to attack whatever is bothering me. I love to take my stresses and worries out on the bag and feel like it makes me a much easier person to deal with.
This video is from closer to the end of the hour long class, and I’m still giving it my all even though I was pretty fatigued at this point. These combinations that combine punches with body weight exercises (push-ups in this case) take a lot of energy and focus. Push-ups are much harder when you’ve got boxing gloves on as it is much easier to roll your wrist. I always say that boxing is like dancing for me. I try to find the rhythm to the movements and let it flow through me. Adding a push-up disrupts hat rhythm just a bit and adds a whole new difficulty level.
