I love finding ways to add more of a challenge to a basic exercise. While single leg bicep curls are more challenging than basic bicep curls, I always like to take it a step further. Our instructor told us that we could attempt to do them while balancing on a bosu if we needed help keeping our heart rates up. I knew that I could maintain my heart rate using heavy weights but wanted to see if I could rise to the challenge. It was a significant amount of work but I felt so accomplished that I was able to pull it off (and with 20# DBs!!!). I’m a very firm believer that people should make conscious effort to push themselves to do things that they feel might be impossible. I will say that 9 times out of 10 I am able to accomplish things that my mind would never believe I could do. Sometimes you have to attempt the impossible to continue advancing in your fitness journey.
