I’m sure many people think of boxing as primarily anarm workout. I know I did before I started taking boxing classes. I very quickly learned, however, that a boxing class can actually be a full body workout. While your arms get a lot of a workout through the punches, your legs and core have to stay engaged to give you more power. Then if you add in footwork, kicks, or knees, you’re engaging your whole body. I like this video because it’s rare that we do a combination comprised entirely of knees especially on the uppercut bag. It really took a lot of effort to get my knees up high enough to hit the bag each time. My entire body is feeling the burn from today’s workout, but my legs are more sore than normal due to this combination.
