Motivation Monday- make it your own

During our first round of boxing today, we were told to alternate left and right kicks on this particular bag. I figured I would add a little more skill to it by alternating low, medium, and high kicks on each side. It not only looks cooler, but it involves more focus to maintain your balance. Kicking at the three different levels also helps open up your hip more. I’m kicking much higher now than when I first started taking the XIT boxing class at my gym. I feel like this is due primarily to the fact that I try to toss in high kicks whenever I can. And that’s one of the thing I love most about boxing, we can play with the combinations to make them more suitable to our particular skill levels or even just trying to push ourselves to the next level.
