I feel it’s only fitting that my first Wardrobe Wednesday post of the New Year showcase my New Years Eve outfit. It’s even more fitting considering this is my first blog post of any kind in the New Year. Due to spending most of New Year’s Day drifting in and out of consciousness, I did not workout or post any workout videos on Monday.
So here we go, welcome to a new year with Top Shelf Shelly. I love this outfit, because it’s just so me. The bright colors are really in your face, but also so incredibly nostalgic for me. I grew up in Tucson AZ, which is where the headquarters of Lisa Frank is located. I have so many positive memories associated with this brand, so it’s fun to be able to wear it as an adult. It’s also so fun to have my friends get excited to see Lisa Frank and reminisce about all the fun Lisa Frank items they had as a child. Even better, I found my awesome New Year’s Eve glasses to pull the whole outfit together. I also really liked these as a child, so it was really fun to wear them around. Starting the New Year off in a fun, and more importantly comfortable, outfit seems to have been a great choice. I didn’t have to worry about getting dirty or catching it on anything. I was able to wear comfy shoes, which is even more important than comfy clothes. And I entered the New Year representing my true self and not a stylized version of myself.
