Fitness Friday- jump up jump up and get down

While weights are really what I love most about the gym, I do my fair amount of body weight exercises as well. Probably the most fun to do is the big box jumps. Even though they don’t look that difficult, it takes a lot of concentration to execute this move. Each jump is a foot and a half. The fact that the top part isn’t permanently attached means that you have to be even more precise in how you land so you don’t bring the whole thing toppling down. I feel a little more confident using the jump boxes than the steps with all the tiers since these won’t hurt if you misjudge your height and slam your shins into the box. I did three sets of 10 of this exercise, which got me up into a pretty solid calorie burning heart rate. And best yet, I had a woman come up to me and tell me it’s clear why I’m toning up. It’s always so cool for ,e to receive encouragement from other people who attend my gym. It’s nice to know that my hard work is noticed and admired by my peers.
