Fitness Friday- don’t neglect to do single leg exercises

My legs are very strong and I really pride myself on being able to leg press over 1000 pounds. Just like with hands, however, we have a dominant leg, which tends to be stronger and pick up the slack for the weaker leg. I’m right handed and right leg dominant and this is especially evident when it comes to any type of balancing exercise. When it comes to single leg leg presses or hamstring curls, I can do the same amount of weight although my left leg feels the burn more quickly.

These two videos help show the imbalance in my balance depending on which leg I’m trying to balance on. The weight in my hand is exactly the same, but I needed to use the bag to stabilize me on my weak leg. It probably didn’t help that I did single leg exercises yesterday as well, but it was important to me to get my reps in on each side. I have seen some improvement in my balance since I started doing more single leg exercises, but I know I still have a long way to go.
