I’ve already posted about how my adherence to a regimented workout schedule is my key to staying motivated to workout week after week. I, however, am also human and do have instances where I’m tempted to say screw the gym in favor of another activity. Take today for instance. Our neighborhood HOA does donuts for the kids on the 2nd day of the school year. It’s a great way to come together as a neighborhood and celebrate the new school year. Well this year, they added an event for the parents to take place once the kids got off to school with mimosas and bloody Marys. I’ll admit that I do have a slight case of FOMO, and many of my friends in the neighborhood were encouraging me to just skip the gym today. I’ll admit that I did consider it for a bit, but as I had already signed up for my XIT class I felt obligated to attend. This is why I feel like committing to go to specific classes is so important for maintaining your commitment to your fitness. While it would have been nice to drink and chat with the other moms, I got an amazing workout in and a great sense of accomplishment for not giving into temptation. There will be other opportunities to socialize with friends and neighbors where I won’t feel quilty for skipping out on something that I do for MYSELF to maintain my sanity. Best yet, this was the best my graph has looked from an XIT class ever. So not only did I get workout in, but I KILLED it.
