I had two sick kiddos last week, which meant I had to miss my XIT workout at the gym. After all, if they can’t go to school then they can’t go to the gym daycare. I could have very easily decided to just not film the reminding exercises from week two of the XIT workout, but thankfully I had everything I needed to get my videos already in my basement. I bought a generic TRX for my husband last year, so I could get all the TRX videos from the strength circuit. It was quite fortuitous that I only had the TRX exercises left to film, as I would not have had the proper dumbbells to do the other exercises. My little guy just did his thing while I taped my moves. He even made a bit of a guest appearance in one of my videos. Guess that’s just one of the benefits to working out at home.
I also had to make a couple modifications to my remaining conditioning circuit exercises as we do not have a step. I was able to do a couple of the moves on our workout bench, which is quite a bit higher than the step I would have used at the gym. And I actually jumped over a box for my box side hops.
One of my dogs made an appearance this day, which shows why I like to go to the gym. While it is nice to have to have the ability to workout at home, my little ones (both the 2-legged and 4-legged variety) want to be involved. It’s a lot easier to just get my workout done without their adorable interruptions.
It is nice to know, however, that I’ve got enough different pieces of workout equipment that I can get a well rounded workout in without ever leaving my house.
