Motivation Monday- give it all you’ve got

Exercise is a major form of stress relief for me, and many of my PRs correlate with some type of difficult I was facing in my life. There’s just something about pushing yourself as hard as you can that makes everything feel a little better. Today’s boxing workout was like that. I will be talking more about what’s troubling me in the coming weeks on this blog as I’m still working through it all. I do feel a million times better after today’s workout. There is something so satisfying about hitting something as hard as you can over and over again. Although, I also took the same approach to our treadmill runs and battle ropes in class today as you’ll see in the second and third videos.

I loved this combination, because it ended with a two consecutive right hooks. My right arm is my strongest arm and definitely has the most power. I feel like this combination really shows just how much power I have in my right arm.

This was my fastest sprint to date in boxing class. I was able to maintain a 9.5 mph pace at a 4 incline, which is pretty darn fast for me. I think that I was able to push my speed like this due to the fact that I’ve been adding more Tabata workouts into my weekly routine.

I used to dread working with the battle ropes, but I’ve definitely found my groove when it comes to the battle ropes. This is alternating arms using a reserve grip, which adds an extra level of difficulty. This is another exercise that gives me a great outlet for my frustrations. I love the feeling of slamming the ropes into the ground and the noise they make with each repetition.
