Another Monday has almost reached its end, which means I started my week off with another boxing class. There were 5 of us in class today, so every round included some treadmill time. I usually try to be a little conservative when we start out sprinting so early in the workout. Today, however, I wanted to push my body just a little bit harder. For the first two rounds, I set my speed to 9 miles per hour. Now this is a fast sprint for me when I’m at a 0 incline let alone a 4 or 6 incline. But I did it and I didn’t die. Did I find myself a little more tired when I got to the bags? Yes, but I also had a real sense of accomplishment. It’s always so satisfying when you challenge yourself and rise to the challenge.

These are 35# DBs, which I wasn’t 100% sure I could do for more than a couple of reps. It felt so good to be able to do this weight. You never know until you try whether you’re ready to move up to that next weight of speed. It is so important to keep challenging yourself, so that you know when you’ve reached the next level. It’s too easy to get comfortable and stop challenging yourself. Nothing is better than deciding to try something new and finding you’re strong enough to actually do it.
