So I’ll admit that I’ve been slacking a bit with my blog lately, but I’m hoping to get back to posting more regularly as I’m finally adjusting to my new schedule. I’ve been a stay at home mom for the last 8 years, which meant I was able to maintain a very regular workout schedule while my kids were at school or their respective summer activities. Today, I began my 3rd week at my new job. It’s truly an amazing opportunity that seems like it was meant for me, but it has been a huge adjustment. The first week I was so tired at the end of the day that I found myself skipping workouts without much resistance. Anyone who follows me on IG knows that this is not like me at all, but I could tell I wasn’t in a place where I could work out safely. Last week, I found myself going to the gym a little bit more and feeling less tired. So far, I’m optimistic that I should get in at least 5 workouts this week. While this is not my normal 6-7 workouts in a week, I have to remember that my overall schedule has changed drastically in the last couple of weeks and I need to be proud of myself for still finding a way to get in workouts. I have worked too hard to reach my fitness level to just let it all go.
Will it be harder to go to the gym now that I can’t make it till after I’ve gotten in my hours at work? Yes, it will be. But will it feel like that much more of a victory when I make it to the gym? Hell yeah. I’m on this journey for life and nothing can stop me now.
These are just two of the exercises in our current XIT workout that use the TRX to isolate the abs, and I can honestly say that I have never felt stronger than I do right now. The first video is TRX mountain climber and the second is TRX oblique crunches.
